In 1930, Laura Henderson, the eccentric widow of a wealthy merchant, bought a London cinema and transformed it into a cabaret. The Windmill Theatre in Soho became famous for its "Revudeville", the special shows performed there, which featured for the first time in Britain nudity on stage.
