US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has clashed with CBS’ Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan over immigration.The clash came when Ms Brennan questioned the Homeland Security secretary about reviving a policy which will “separate families from their children at the border."
Noem clapped back at the journalist, blasting former US President Joe Biden for not following the law.
“He didn’t follow the law, in the fact that it’s always been equally applied until his administration,” she said.
“He made decisions to ignore federal law in how he handled immigration and enforcement within our borders.
During the CBS interview, Ms Noem discussed how border crossings are now at a 25-year low.
“This isn’t Joe Biden’s world anymore. This is President Donald Trump’s country, where we have a border and law, and it applies equally to everybody,” she said.
