
The short answer is no… they don’t.
Skippable pre-roll ads make up a majority of most YouTubers income, but the advertisers DO NOT need to pay for these adds until one of three things happens.
You watch the add for more than 30 seconds without skipping.
You Watch the entire add if it is less than 30 seconds.
Or you actually click on the ad.
So why then don’t advertisers just make really short quick add pitches that get their point across in a few seconds before that skip button comes up? Wouldn’t this effectively give them free advertising?
Well yes it would, but the problem is YouTube has it’s own algorithm for ads… It tracks which ads get skipped the LEAST and plays THEM the most…
So, if you want to get the word out about your new crypto trading course you got to throw up that Lambo and make lots of wild hand movements to make sure people stick around.
