
Even before Trump’s announcement on Friday, the economic outlook for Canada was showing signs of weakness. Statistics Canada reports that the country’s GDP contracted by a tenth of a percentage in April, led by declines in manufacturing as well as export sectors. The U.S. Supreme Court delivered a major victory to the Trump administration on Friday. The split court ruled that individual judges lack the authority to grant nationwide injunctions which have hampered his presidential agenda for months.
