The official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Portable Spay/Neuter Unit at John Williams Park, 6101 Sheridan Street in Hollywood took place this morning. Lisa Mendhelm from Broward County Animal Care welcomed everyone, followed by remarks by Broward County Mayor Beam Furr, Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy and Hollywood District 5 Commissioner Kevin Biederman.

The ceremony was hosted by Broward County Animal Care and Adoption, in partnership with the Humane Society of Broward County.

The custom, portable spay/neuter unit will be in place over the next several months through a partnership with the City of Hollywood. Spay and neuter surgeries will take place Monday through Friday. For an appointment, please call the Humane Society of Broward County at 954.463.SPAY (7729).
