The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet launched Africa's first mini-grid powered large scale irrigation system in Ethiopia on Tuesday, October 11. The system, called the Distributed Renewable Energy - Agriculture Modalities (DREAM), has been realized in conjunction with Ethiopia's Ministry of Water and Energy and the African Development Bank. The initiative will begin with the launch of nine renewable energy mini-grids and irrigation systems across Ethiopia.
