Typically the bottlenecks for NASes isn’t how fast the drives can read and write data, most likely it will be due to your local network. For example, my NAS can reach speeds up to 700 MB/s locally, but when transferring data over my network it’s limited to 125 MB/s due to the Ethernet port on the NAS and my computer.
While these can definitely be upgraded to 10 Gigabit ports, it would cost a lot more money to upgrade the entire network setup to support these speeds, and for me, it’s not necessary since I’m not constantly sending or updating large files over the network.
