Retro Release: 59 years ago today—on July 18, 1966—The Byrds released Fifth Dimension, their fourth studio album produced by Allen Stanton and recorded at Columbia Studios in Hollywood.

Blending folk‑rock jangle with psychedelic experimentation and jazz‑inflected improvisation, Fifth Dimension journeys from the groundbreaking single “Eight Miles High” to the cosmic title track “5D (Fifth Dimension),” the playful “Mr. Spaceman,” and the dreamy “I See You,” all anchored by Roger McGuinn’s signature 12‑string Rickenbacker and David Crosby’s rich harmonies.

It peaked at No. 24 on the US Billboard 200, cementing The Byrds’ reputation as innovators at the crossroads of folk, rock, and emerging psychedelia.

How do you feel about this album? Will you spin it?
