300 Degrees - Monoik (Cassette Album, Acid Techno, 2020)This is the album that I started 5 years ago, and finished around 3 years ago. Wanted to stay within drum machine sound spectrum, but go experimental and breaky , and acidy. This is the reason I have kept it for my self for that long, as I didn't know what to do with it, it doesn't sound like 300 Degrees but I also didn't want to give it another name. So I ended up just putting it out as it is. On a cassette tape, limited to 20 copies. + digital. This video is an actual cassette rip.
The album represents the cold and ugly architecture of Lithuania. The picture is taken from my window, that clearly represents this and I see it every day. And it's like that everywhere I go here, every small town and every city has the same ugly architecture. Also, the title Monoik comes from the word mono, which is how I made this whole album - in mono. And it also represents the gray-monocolor of Post Soviet architecture.
Production wise - this was all done with Reason 10 and a midi controller with knobs and faders, assigned to them different parameters of synths and drum machines. And all was jammed life as if using real drum machines and synths, something I did on my first 300 Degrees records.
