In the new episode of the "The Real Ukrainian lifestyle" series, FILM.UA explores one of the oldest traditional crafts of Ukrainians — straw weaving. Using straw and reeds, our ancestors crafted talismans and home decorations, particularly "pavuk" (spiders). These intricately woven, airy structures made of quadrangles were suspended from the ceiling by long horsehair strands.
The video delves into the regions of Ukraine where such items were prevalent, the types of straw used in their creation, and how to properly preserve them. Watch the video for more insights.
