
Mark Rutte has given a speech at the Chatham House Think Tank in London in which he has talked about the challenges NATO is facing. He spoke of the Russian threat and he has stated that a ceasefire in Ukraine will lead to an increased risk for NATO, as Russia would begin stockpiling weapons. Bruno Kahl, President of Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service has stated that Russia will test NATO’s resolve in one way or another and it’s going to happen in the near future. Lithuania has reported that they have scrambled jets to intercept Russian aircraft flying in international space over the Baltic Sea. Mark Rutte has also spoken about NATO’s 5% budget, a major increase from the current 2%.
