The temperatures have plummeted to -12 degrees, and farm chores don’t stop just because it’s freezing outside. Emily tackles calf barn chores in extreme cold, making sure our youngest animals are warm, fed, and healthy.
Most of the calves are handling the cold just fine, but of course, we run into a few challenges along the way… because when the temps drop this low, something always freezes up.
In this video:
✔️ Daily calf chores in extreme cold – keeping calves warm and fed
✔️ What changes when it’s -12 outside?
✔️ Dealing with frozen equipment & winter farm struggles
✔️ A few calves that need extra attention
Taking care of livestock in these conditions is no joke, but it’s all part of farming. Stay warm, and if you’ve ever dealt with livestock in extreme cold, let us know in the comments!
