Bio:
Ingeborg von Agassiz is known for her live performances of original music using an array of electronic instruments. Her style has been described as "folk opera" and has drawn comparisons to artists as wide-spanning as Enya, Bob Dylan, and Bjork. The Duluth News Tribune described her debut album as reminiscent of "children's music while also reminding you of 'Gangsta's Paradise.'"
Her latest project is a dark holiday album, Coventry Carols (2021), which features nine original songs that dwell upon the mysterious, macabre, and often bleak side of the holiday season.
Ingeborg von Agassiz modeled her stage name after two powerful women of Medieval Europe: Hildegard von Bingen and Eleanore of Aquitaine, both being sources of inspiration in her life and writing. ‘Ingeborg’ is her great-grandmother and ‘Agassiz’ refers to the ancient glacial Lake Agassiz which once covered the region of northwestern Minnesota where she was born and raised.
