First episode of my Tales From a Disappearing City podcast premiered on March 21st 2023 and 6 months later I have just uploaded episode 11. When I started I really didn't know what I was doing and I still barely do now but I'm getting better and it has been a steep learning curve. I do think you learn more by doing though and sometimes you just have to go for it and see what happens. Response has been incredible and I am incredibly grateful for all the nice comments and feedback I have received so far. I initially wanted to do an episode every 2 weeks but that proved way too ambitious and I am now aiming for 3 weeks between shows with maybe the occasional 4 week gap when life stuff intervenes. The editing and image finding for each episode takes an incredibly long time but it seems to be appreciated by those of you who watch the show so it makes it worth the effort. For those who don't know and I have had quite a few people tell me they did not realise, the podcast is available both on YouTube with video and images cut in at appropriate moments as well as audio only on iTunes, Google, Spotify and all the other major podcast platforms. Some people have been watching on YouTube whilst others have been listening on their phone or in the car. I have had approximately 3000 YouTube plays, 1000 audio only downloads and 250 audio streams on Spotify for the first 10 episodes. It's been an upward curve with views and listens every month and I've got plenty more guests planned over the next 6 months so hopefully I will reach the one year anniversary in March. If you do enjoy the podcast and want to help then subscribing and liking videos on YouTube really does help the algorithm spread the word. Also any shares of podcasts or social media about the show is very welcome. The latest episode with Christoph Fringeli speaking about Praxis and Datacide and subcultural explorations in the 80's has just gone online with part 2 coming in 3 weeks. Thanks to all the interviewees who have been so generous with their time and digging into their archives. Big shouts to Ian aka Blackmass Plastics, Howard aka Flint Michigan, Neil Transpontine, Simon Dexorcist, Ben Dead Silence and Christoph. Also thank you so much to all the viewers and listeners for the encouragement that has helped me keep it going. More tales coming soon.
