On September 20, 2014, Denver, Colorado’s Pepsi Center was treated to one of the earliest songs in Elton’s concert repertoire. ‘Grey Seal’ was written in 1969 and originally recorded during the sessions for Elton’s eponymous 1970 album but only appeared on the b-side of one of his UK singles that year. The song was then re-arranged, re-recorded, and released for the masses in 1973 on Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, giving us the sparkly version we hear here.
