This quick instructional video will give you the knowledge you need to safely and properly check the resistance in your industrial motor using a megohmmeter. MAKE SURE YOU CUT POWER TO THE MOTOR FIRST. This can be done at the power supply (breaker box). Have somebody stand next to the box to make sure the breaker does not get turned on. If you don’t have an extra person, wrap the breaker box in yellow caution tape and put a piece of red tape over the breaker switch.
