mgk did a surprise pop-up show at Electric Fetus in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 14, 2025. This pop-up show was part of mgk's "lost xx road trip." He did a small tour called "lost xx road trip" in celebration of his new album "lost americana." The pop-up show was free. During the show, mgk delivered a sincere and touching message to his fans. mgk said Lost Americana was born in his living room, and that letting go of his obsession with chart success allowed him to return to his roots and reconnect more deeply with fans.

mgk said, "All these wildfires were starting and burning down the homes. They burnt down the studio that we recorded at. A couple weeks later, we started recording Lost Americana. Just these guys and a couple others in my living room. Best friends making music that we weren't sure if anyone was gonna I ever hear. We weren't sure if we were gonna put it out. I was really really determined based off the last two albums of like, 'I gotta get this No. 1, man, I gotta get this No. 1,' and it wasn't for a selfish reason. It was because I felt like I was a leader of this movement, and I felt like things like that No. 1 was gonna give us all a validation. Looking at the charts or where it's at right now, it doesn't look like we're gonna get it. It's actually better that way because this album felt like going back to my roots. Going back to what made me connect with you guys in the first place. If you've been around in this movement for a long time, then this person that's up here is familiar to you. It makes me emotional talking about that person because I've separated myself from him for some years, and dude, he's right back, and I got his back. I love that unapologetically vulnerable, confident in who he was person who didn't need the validation from these masses because I didn't have it. And now that I've attained a level of whatever you want to call it, fame or success. This album oddly feels better than any of those number ones that I got. Releasing this album felt like I released a weight from myself. And you should be really proud, and anyone who's watching on the internet right now should be really proud of the work that you put in promoting this album and streaming this album and buying this album. This is the most connected we've been in years. So it's almost like the family just got stronger again. It's almost like we went to our own form of therapy, and that is what this album is. So let's get in the car together, let's skip to track 4 on Lost Americana."
