Armin Johnert (born October 2, 1960 in Seesen) is a German DJ, music producer, music label owner, music journalist and local politician.

Johnert, born in 1960, grew up in Osterode am Harz, where he graduated from high school in 1979. From 1979 to 1986 he studied economics at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen.

Johnert began his career as a DJ while still a student in 1984 at the Göttingen alternative disco Pink. At the same time, he was active in various EBM and New Wave bands such as The Ballad Bombs, The Fynecry and Bigod 20. From 1988 to 1989 he was responsible for purchasing New Wave/Indie at WOM in Frankfurt am Main. Through his acquaintance with Talla 2XLC, Johnert came to record distributor AMV/Logic in 1989, where he was responsible for exports. Talla 2XLC also arranged contact with the techno magazine Frontpage, founded by Jürgen Laarmann and Stefan Weil, for which Johnert worked as editor-in-chief from July 1989. After differences with Jürgen Laarmann over the further direction of the magazine, Johnert withdrew from the magazine in 1992 together with the Technoclub, which had been acting as editor until then.

Together with Talla 2XLC, he revived New Life Soundmagazine from 1992 onwards. In addition, he played for ten years as DJ Jeff at Frankfurt's Club Bizarre at Dorian Gray. As a music producer, he has been involved in releases of projects such as Caspar Houser, Illuminatus, P.A.C.-Men, Nils Bergen or Techno Teens. He founded and operated the record labels 23 Frankfurt and 3 Lanka. From 1991, Johnert was first employed in the export department and later as sales manager of Discomania's exclusive sales department; he remained active in this function until the company's insolvency in 2010. In 2008, Armin Johnert appeared in the documentary We Call It Techno!.

In 2009, Johnert became chairman of the Bad Homburg Citizens' List and has been a member of the city parliament ever since. His political focus is primarily on urban development, cultural and building policy, as well as nature and environmental protection. In 2020, he announced his candidacy for the position of mayor of Bad Homburg.[6] In the election in March 2021, he was defeated by incumbent Alexander Hetjes.
