19-year-old Ymothep first encountered music as an acoustic guitarist, playing in a band since the age of 13. His craze for electronic music started later, in 2013. Interested by every style and showcasing a real eclecticism, Ymothep is inspired by the likes of Triple Six Mafia’s old cassettes and the devastating riffs of Hendrix. This musical progress led him to turn to melancholic music, oscillating between ambience and Techno in the analog tones. Some of his inspirations in this sense are Tim Hecker, Philip Glass and Aphex Twin. With lots of music in the pipeline, his first EP will be released this summer on the Portuguese label Golden Mist Records, managed by Lake Haze and DJ Khabal!
