On 1 July 1991, ITN joined veterans of the Royal Irish Rifles John Dickson, Leslie Bell, and William Calvert as they returned to the Somme battlefields in northern France to mark the 75th anniversary of the battle. Made public here for the first time, the uncut interviews recorded with the men of the Royal Irish Rifles have been newly digitised by the ITN Archive team to mark Armistice Day 2024.
