The Roughriders rattled off the first 9 runs of the game, getting to Rams starter Aaron Flowers for 6 runs in the opening frame by taking advantage of three walks and a hit batter. Brayden Sullivan and Jack Boos both drove in runs in the 2nd inning, putting Upper Sandusky in a deep, early hole.
Gavin Frey drove in a run in the bottom of the 2nd, and Flowers delivered an RBI hit in the 3rd, but the Rams stranded 3-runners in the frame with an inning-ending double-play. Upper Sandusky manufactured another run in the 4th to complete the scoring, as both defenses took over down the stretch.
St Marys (15-13) now moves on to face Ontario in the Bowling Green Regional Semifinals at Bowling Green State University. Upper Sandusky wraps up their campaign at 25-4.
