Track 14
A Lantern Rite Journey
Part 3: The Romance of Liyue
I chose this battle theme over the others because I liked the ending sections in this one the most. Either ways, it was a bit difficult to arrange because of the seemingly disjunct sections, and it's at a tempo that's fast enough to where it's difficult to fit in too much more than just the main melody line.
My overall strategy was to replicate the melody in the right hand and replicate the bounce from the strings in the left. This actually turned out a bit tricky to coordinate between both hands because the rhythms in the left hand sometimes didn't make sense to my brain.
Add on top of that a lot of repetition, which places a higher demand on evenness, and big jumps with technicality, and this ended up being one of my less liked arrangements to play in this album. Sure it's fun when it all clicks, but when it doesn't, it's kinda a hassle to have to grind through each section to get them good.
So hopefully this is passable. It's not the greatest performance, but I do think the arrangement is pretty decent. When I looked online at other arrangements, they all either ended up being too simple for me or way too complicated (ie. playing everything as octaves and generally being crazy).
