"Don’t Worry Baby" was written by Brian Wilson and Roger Christian, and Wilson has referred to it as one of the band's greatest songs. Inspired by the Ronettes' 1963 single "Be My Baby," the song shares a similar musical structure but differs in lyrics and production. It was originally composed for the Ronettes, but after their producer Phil Spector rejected it, Wilson produced it with The Beach Boys, with the band performing all the instrumental parts. "Don’t Worry Baby" has been ranked as one of the greatest songs of all time by Rolling Stone, and it has been covered and performed by various artists, including Ronnie Spector. Notably, BJ Thomas's cover version achieved greater commercial success than the original.
