About the Song: When I first heard Shelby Lynne's amazing 'Killin' Kind' in Bridget Jones's Diary soundtrack, it spoke directly to that part of me that's been broken by love. The shoegaze/reggae fusion sound I cultivate gave me the perfect canvas to reimagine this song through a different emotional lens. There's something about the way reggae rhythms carry heartache that feels more honest to how I've experienced love—beautiful but dangerous, like walking on broken glass. Like Bridget herself, I've felt both strengthened and shattered by the same relationship. Every time I perform it, I'm reliving both the ecstasy and the agony of loving too deeply, and somehow the steady reggae pulse makes that pain bearable.
