Metallica's new album 72 Seasons is out....but is it any good? My favorite track is probably Lux Aeterna, the first track they released last fall. Overall, the songwriting on 72 Seasons is overindulgent in my opinion. I like long songs and progressive rock. However, you have to justify the longer tracks with interesting plot twists. It shouldn't just be extra chorus and verse sections. I get the sense many 72 seasons tracks go on after they're finished. I also discuss the problem with modern live shows from a recent concert experience. The travel, cost, digital privacy concerns, personal space, moshing and other issues make concerts a rough time.
