What is Music Theory and why do we need it?
Music theory is a study that allows us to understand the language of music. It is a set of guidelines and practices used to recognize the different ways to express emotions with sound. Music theory also helps us interpret musical compositions and become confident in creating or performing music.
Learning basic music theory is also essential for enhancing creativity. Your Music can drastically change. It is a challenging, yet rewarding set of skills to learn. Knowing how music works will make your music production process easier. Knowing how every knob works is super cool, but it is the melody, the chords and emotions that complete your song!
In this video, I have covered key signatures, intervals, scales, chords, and other music fundamentals. You'll learn how to make chords, seventh chords as well as chord extensions. I have shown two methods of making chords. From Triads to complex chords, everything is in it. You'll also come to know about some interesting facts related to music. Semi - Tones, Whole - Steps, Half - Steps, Octaves, everything basic yet essential is covered in it.
Most of us are not making classical music and pieces here, so I did not went on to explain Diminished and other complex chords. Let's keep it for another video!
