More on the Harmony Silhouette here:
Harmony Guitars have been around in one form or another since 1892, and the current Silhouette is a mixture of retro offset looks and modern features and playability, all held together by Harmony’s custom-wound gold foil mini humbuckers!
This is a premium instrument through and through. It was built in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA, at the same factory where Gibson Guitars used to be made, and Heritage (and Harmony!) guitars are currently crafted, and it certainly looks, feels and plays like no expenses were spared.
This limited flame maple edition features an alder body under that beautiful sea blue top, while the neck is maple with a bone nut, locking tuners, and an ebony fingerboard. The body and neck both have a nitro finish. The C-shaped neck is pleasantly chunky in the hand, and it has a 25” scale length, a 12” fingerboard radius, and 22 medium jumbo frets – all of which make it perfect for chords, solos, and anything in between.
On the body we have that pair of Harmony mini humbuckers, the iconic Harmony cupcake knobs, and a custom half Telecaster-style bridge with compensated saddles.
Finally, this being a boutique axe, it’s delivered in an exquisite MONO Vertigo soft padded case, which are the best gig bags I’ve ever seen. More on the Vertigo here:
Put simply, then, the Silhouette is an enticing proposition, even when you consider its $1700/€1700 price tag… but is it worth the money? That’s what we’re going to find out! In the video, I play the Silhouette in as many different musical styles as I can!

My setup was as follows: I ran the Silhouette into my Hughes & Kettner Black Spirit 200 head, using my Revv G3 for heavy distortion sounds. The amp went from the Red Box DI straight into my Focusrite Scarlett 2i4, which went into Logic Pro X. That's it. No post-processing on the sounds was done.
