The nationally acclaimed 'We'll meet again' WWII mobile museum have spent 2 days at the HDHS with nine History students. Our students have had the amazing opportunity of holding weaponry of WWII including, P14 Thompson machine guns and actual bombs that were found from 1941. The Blitz was brought to life by the sounds effects of the air raids and and bombs. They were also taught about the Home Front, the role of women in the factories, the Home Guard and rationing. At the end of the sessions, pupils were able to spend time looking at the vast collection of memorabilia. They enjoyed putting on soldier's uniforms, trying out the gas masks, and holding the huge collection of guns. Erin Toleman, Head of History said " this was a once in a lifetime opportunity for the students at our school. It was a delight to see the students so engaged and the session was fantastic!"
