On This Day 1985: The Bombing Of Air India Flight 182The jumbo jet flying from Montreal to London exploded over the Atlantic killing all 329 on board and was the deadliest act of aviation terrorism until the 9/11 attacks.
Bodies and plane wreckage were recovered from the ocean about 100 miles off the southwest coast of Ireland, as investigators attempted to work out what had happened.
Extremists in the terror group Babbar Khalsa, fighting for Sikh independence, carried out the bombing.
