YES IT SOUNDS MORE LIKE "DEVO". THAN THE SPECIALS I AM TOTALLY AWARE OF THIS ' WHEN I WAS RECORDING IT ' THE SOUND ENGINEER WAS DANCING AROUND THE ROOM ' EXCLAIMING WE ARE DEVO .

The whole point was to reimagine a song that i love that's all i didnt want to COPY the specials thats already been done ' and thank you to both #THESPECIALS and #DEVO for all the legendary music ' endlessly inspiring new generations.

BlaKl1st + Lazar are 2 cousins of scottish /romanian background 'making music and based in london uk. almost all original music with the rare cover song ' and this is one of these cover songs


Out of the 7 versions of this song we recorded maybe 3 are good enough to put up on youtube and elsewhere . the thing that we discovered about this specials song IS ' this song was so much ' of it's time ' its difficult to bend the time prism in which people hear this song . some music is like that you can drag it anywhere but it firmly plants itself where it comes from . it's a difficult thing to explain.

We thought a lot about releasing this' complete rework of the original song 'there are more mixes' we recorded about 12 hours of recording . Some specials fans might find it insulting ' well they did all their comments are in the original upload on my youtube

If by chance any of the specials or specials fanbase see this again ' we are sorry to change some of the lyrics and the actual musical notation completely but we mean well ' we adore this song and could never match the original and thats why we played around with our versions of it . when we tried to cover it straight cover ' it sounded like a cheap imitation of the specials so we wanted to try something different .

We are also covering another song we adore " MAKING PLANS FOR NIGEL " which also ties into the current uk zeitgeist ' farage reform etc #reform

we used the commodore c64 chip on most of this recording .
