It is possible, Fats did not play piano and was replaced by Ron DiFillips.

"Goodnight Sweetheart" was first recorded by the New Mayfair Dance Orchestra. It was recorded on February 19, 1931.
The biggest hit however was done by Wayne King and His Orchestra, although that version was almost instrumental.
