Primitive beats by Shred’er has what I like to call the Urban Psytrance Bassline 🤔
It’s a funky and bouncy bass that has nothing to do with the classic triplettes we’re used to 😱
✅ This is how you create it in Serum:
🟢 First, grab your favorite bass wavetable. I used one from my Psyche Vol. 2 preset bank called Light Aggression.
🟢 Next, apply a lowpass filter I’m using Low24.
🟢The secret to this sound is modulating both the volume and filter cutoff using a sidechain-shaped LFO set to 1/4 rate.
🟢 Draw a MIDI pattern with long legato notes and don’t forget to set Serum’s voicing to mono, activate legato, and adjust the portamento to about halfway.
