Here is a video of chasing the LOS27 Bassett Local on the Alhambra Subdivision from City of Industry Yard to Cascade Mill Steel in El Monte, CA.We begin chasing the train in City of Industry Yard where it originates, pulling a string of gondolas up to the switch before getting authority to enter the Alhambra Sub main track. The train proceeds westward, passing through the flyover and past Bassett, to Cascade Steel Mill located between CP AL497 Bassett and CP AL495 El Monte on single track main, right under the Metrolink San Gabriel Subdivision flyover.
The train spends several minutes switching out the industry, with several Metrolink San Bernardino Line commuter trains passing by above. Once complete, the train uses a UP caboose as a shoving platform for the long shove back east to City of Industry Yard.
A pair of EMD Geeps, GP60 1143 and GP38-2 626, are used for today's train, painted in local taggers' graffiti. Thanks for watching!
