In July 2025, a massive concert in the Croatian capital, Zagreb, drew global attention when parts of the crowd chanted a slogan used by the country's Second World War fascist regime. Held by the notorious right-wing singer Marko Perković, also known as Thompson, critics saw it as a sign that Croatia hasn’t faced its past. However, supporters dismissed concerns, arguing that it was a celebration of the 1991 war of independence. But the event raised serious questions about nationalism, historical memory, and Europe’s growing far-right movements.
