With there being less than two months left in the year could you blame us for already thinking of 2019?

There has been a lot of new, really good artists to break on to the main stream platforms this year that we may have previously only known on Soundcloud, which usually means a promising 2019 XXL class. XXL’s Editor-In-Chief, Vanessa Satten explained how the process worked in a 2015 interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. She stated that the process can start as early as October and consists of staff attending shows across the country, speaking to people in the music industry, interviewing those close to the Freshmen cover candidates, and more.
