Shou Sugi Ban is a Westernized version of an ancient Japanese wood preservation technique called Yakisugi. This technique is used to weatherproof wood by burning it and applying oil finishes to it. I find it very interesting and have been experimenting with a few methods to use as a finish to some of my projects. I have lots of photos and videos of my trials with this and decided to give you guys a teaser into this new found technique for me. Hope you guys enjoy.
