Sonic the Hedgehog is a 1991 platform game where players control the supersonic blue hedgehog Sonic as he races to save the world from the evil Dr. Robotnik. Sonic can run faster than the speed of sound and roll into a concussive ball to attack enemies. Players run and spin through loops, collect rings, and defeat enemies across seven classic zones. The game was originally developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega for the Genesis/Mega Drive.
