Yamaha Winds artists Grace Kelly, Randy Brecker, and Jeff Coffin tell the story of their journey to becoming musicians, and how their Yamaha instruments have given them the tools necessary in their never-ending search for “the right note.” Grace Kelly, a graduate from The Berklee College of Music, is a rising star in the alto saxophone category. Grace has performed and/or recorded with Harry Connick Jr, Wynton Marsalis, Dave Brubeck, Steve Martin, Tina Fey, Martin Short, Maya Rudolph, Emma Stone, Lin Manuel, Questlove, Esperanza Spalding, Lee Konitz, Phil Woods, Ron Carter, David Sanborn, Marcus Miller, Dianne Reeves, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Huey Lewis and Gloria Estefan to name a few.
Randy Brecker is a Grammy Award winning trumpeter and composer who has helped shape the sound of jazz, R&B, and rock for more than 40 years. His trumpet and flugelhorn performances have graced hundreds of albums by a wide range of artists from James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen and Parliament/Funkadelic to Frank Sinatra, Steely Dan, Jaco Pastorius and Frank Zappa.
Jeff Coffin is currently a member of the Dave Matthews Band, but is globally recognized as a world class saxophonist, composer, and educator. He performed with the Grammy Award winning group Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, in addition to fronting his own groups, the Mu’tet, and the Viridian Trio, and has released over 10 solo albums. Jeff also teaches at Vanderbilt University, and is very involved and passionate about music education.
