To me the Ravenor character represents a kind of apotheosis of the mind in the face of extreme physical limitation. So horns up for the archetypal 'man in the box'. The Eisenhorn trilogy by the same author is also pretty damn spectacular, but Ravenor is just way better material for a metal track. I've given the bridge spoken section a slight 'dalek' twinge for the obvious parallels involved. The repetition of "my name is..." represents the notion that Ravenor is actually an author within the story - an author who likes to be appreciated.
Chorus:
As I pass under the Spatian Gate
As I walk into the jaws of fate
Forced to leave the world behind
Reborn inside my own mind
My name is Ravenor!
Many thanks for listening,
Will.
P.S. That's how it's done \m/ Now fucking follow that.
