It's towards the end of a quarter and you are want to max out the category spending. When you do so, do the credit card companies go by transaction date or post date? If it is the transaction date, it would be very easy as you just have to make sure you spend on that quarter to get the bonus. However, post dates vary a lot depending on when the merchant submits their data and I have seen this vary widely to as late as a few days.
Its turns out Bank of America cards go by post date which means you may have to leave a little room for it to post on the correct quarter that you intend to spend. I did a few experiments to find out this juicy piece of information for you and it certainly would come in useful if I knew this before hand.
