The Third Phlegraean Period is the final period of Campi Flegrei (So far), and is marked by dozens upon dozens of smaller yet devastatingly more frequent eruptions. These occurred both on land and in the bay off the coast of Pozzuoli, leading to smaller tsunami strikes dependent on the level of eruption. Following this period we enter the present day which will be covered in the Forth and final episode of this series. We will cover and map out the entirety of the Third Phlegraean Period and its Three Epochs, as well as covering the notorious 1538 Eruption which created Monte Nuovo, which literally means "new mountain" when translated to English. The people alive during that period witnessed the creation of it from the ground up during a terrifyingly eight day long eruption. This eruption ended a period of uplift that had continued for 1400 years, slowly raising the land around Pozzuoli from the sea, only for it to come to a climax on the night before the 1538 Eruption, which amazingly raised the ground by an incredible 7 meters in the span of 12 hours, which displaced several hundreds of meters around the coastline claiming new ground from the sea that has existed up until present day.

This is a four part series exploring the amazing, and very frightening facts regarding the Italian Supervolcano. I was unable to make only one video of this, as one would not do it justice and I would be skipping numerous vital facts that I felt are very much worth explaining in depth.
