It's time for another unique stay and this time around, we chose a tiny house by the beach! As you know, we've been on a quest to stay in the most unusual AirBnBs we can find, and this has proven to be a very fun way to explore our own backyard in the province of Ontario. So far we've stayed in yurts, geodomes, shipping containers and off-grid cabins, and well, when we came across this beach bunkie with a loft bedroom, we knew we wanted to stay there. In this video, we'll give you a full tour of the tiny house. Our favourite part was the balcony that looks out over the forest - the perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee. The bunkie also had lots of cool details like the twin ladders leading up to the loft beds, the spacious living room with a fireplace, and the rustic wood panelling that gave the place a cosy feel.

Join us (Sam & Audrey) as we embark on another Canadian weekend adventure—this time to a cozy tiny house (“bunkie”) just 500 meters from the beach! We hit the road, leaving the city behind, and take the scenic route through rural Ontario, farms, and forests, soaking in country roads and fresh air.

🥾 Hiking in Copeland Forest: Wide Trails & Wooded Wonders

Before check-in, we explore Copeland Forest—a sprawling conservation area of 4,400 acres. The wide, well-marked trails are surrounded by dense woods, perfect for hiking, biking, and escaping urban life. The sun finally comes out, adding a warm glow to our forest adventure.

🏡 Tiny House Tour: Funky, Rustic, and Modern

Welcome to our beachside bunkie! This unique tiny house is a mix of rustic charm and modern amenities:

Breakfast Station: Keurig, coffee, hot chocolate, and even a wine fridge (BYOB!).

Living Space: L-shaped sectional (sleeps two if you don’t want to climb up), cozy fireplace, Netflix-ready TV, and lots of blankets and pillows.

Sleeping Loft: Two mattresses in a loft accessible by ladder—sleeps up to four!

Bathroom: Sink, toilet, and essentials (no shower, but hey, you have the beach).

Private Balcony: Overlooking the woods, screened with a net—perfect for morning coffee, bird songs, and enjoying nature bug-free.

📱 Smart Cabin Life & Tech Fun

This bunkie comes with some high-tech surprises: Google smart home features that make life easier (and fun for jokes), and a fireplace that turns on automatically when it gets chilly. No need to stoke the fire in the night—just pure comfort.

🍕 Food Finds & Cozy Meals

Our hunt for beach town fish & chips was thwarted (seasonal only!), so we grabbed Pizza Hut instead and reminisced about previous trips where pizza was a special treat. We dined on the balcony, soaking up forest views and fresh air.

🎬 Netflix & 80s Movie Marathon

After the beach, it’s movie time! We watched “Back to the Future” (Audrey’s first time!), following up with “Back to the Future II.” Our recent theme: classic 80s movies, from Indiana Jones to Crocodile Dundee. Share your “movie oversights” in the comments—what classics have you only just watched?

🌅 Morning Rituals: Balcony Coffee & Birdsong

Waking up to the sounds of nature and sipping hot coffee on the balcony—wrapped in blankets—was a highlight. Though the tiny house is on a larger property, the balcony feels completely immersed in the forest. It’s the best of both worlds: secluded in nature, yet close to amenities.

🚗 Scenic Drives & Small Towns

We purposely choose the country roads for our drive home, passing through foggy mornings, picturesque farms, and quaint communities—proving it’s always worth the extra five minutes for a richer travel experience.
