On this day in 1990, Margaret Thatcher resigned as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. She had begun her parliamentary career in 1959 when she was elected MP for Finchley. Neville Clarke interviewed her in February 1960 on making her maiden speech in the House of Commons and balancing family and political life.
