Just for her to be able keep her legs dry. Grateful, the woman paid him extra, it was $100 in local currency but she paid $500 instead. Feeling bad that he would spend the rest of the night soaked head to toe because of her, she asked him to wait.
Without knowing how long he would wait for, she went and got him a new shirt to change into so at least he would be partially dry for the rest of the night. He was still there and he thanked her for her gift.
And they began the journey once more. Before parting ways he and his friend seems to want to tell her something but because they don't have a phone, they are unable to translate for her. So she said goodbye to them.
Miraculously, 5 days later she saw the same tricyclist again. They stopped the car and went to say hello to each other. She even gave him the vegetables she just bought. She saw him wearing the same shirt she gave him just 5 days ago and was delighted. The man nodded when asked if he liked the shirt. It's unknown whether he understood.
But the woman translated for him using an app. She wished him success and he thought for a moment and nodded. They never learned each other's names due to language barrier but she hoped that he had felt some warmth in this cold and harsh world.
