Students who are “chord fluent” learn literature quicker, improve memorization, and are more willing to improvise. Since manipulating objects is known to help students understand hard-to-grasp concepts, I wanted a way for them to construct chords by stacking physical items representing pitches. At first, I tried stacking cardboard boxes and adapting various games but they all had drawbacks. The solution was to make my own Chord Stacker™ boards and tiles. Now your students can enjoy learning essential music theory concepts with their hands as mine do.
