It may seem intuitive to use all of your RAM slots in your motherboard to have the most memory possible for your gaming pc. But this could result in lower performance due to how your CPU’s memory controller and motherboard work. The memory controller is a process that runs on your CPU to communicate and manage your RAM. Most CPUs and motherboards are designed to efficiently handle only 2 slots of RAM. Adding two more puts more stress on the memory controller since it has to manage more things.
