We made a training bench out of old engine parts to observe how the timing chain works
The purpose of this bench is to show the rotation process of the timing chain mechanisms
As a basis and original dimensions we used OPEL 1.6 diesel B16DTH engine, which is installed on Astra, Insignia, Zafira, Mokka cars.
The complexity and problem of this timing mechanism is that it is very difficult to get to it and service it.
Also, this engine is known for the problems of chain knocking during operation and starting of the engine, loosening of chain tension and breakage of parts of the timing chain mechanism

On this stand it will be possible to conduct various experiments, simulations of different modes of engine operation
When creating the stand of the timing chain mechanism, we used organic glass, fasteners, old parts of the timing chain mechanism, LED-tape, wires, an old window elevator drive, mini-battery, relay regulator of the motor speed, relay regulator of the LED-tape illumination brightness.
