VAN BUILD EPISODE 4 🚐

We’re Brianne & Ben with our two dogs Bella & Bucky. We are currently converting our new Sprinter Van into a Tiny Home on wheels! Be sure to follow along as we make the big transition from home living to life on the road.

Join us this episode as we show you, what we feel is the BEST way to install Wall Framing Studs in a Van (ours specifically is a 2020 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 4x4 170 Extended) as well as a look inside how we insulated the walls using Havelock Wool.

WALL FRAMING 🔩🛠
Since we are trying to conserve as much side to side space as possible, we decided to go with galvanized steel wall framing studs.
**We haven’t seen this done before**
After realizing that this is what the structure of homes is made of, we brainstormed and brainstormed 💭 and figured out a way to make it work!
The studs are strong and lightweight, mold and mildew proof, pest and fire proof, and the pre-punched holes allow for easier installation of plumbing and electricity.
The process we used to create our wall stud framing include:
1. Measuring the wall top to bottom
2. Cutting the pieces to length (Wiss Brand, Straight Cut Scissors, Home Depot)
3. Cutting the sides every 12 inches so we could flatten them
4. When placing them on the wall, we used a drill bit to make a small hole (Milwaukee Brand, 1/8 metal, wood, etc drill bit, Home Depot)
5. Then we used stainless steel screws to attach each stud (Lowes, 3/4 Stainless Steel Flat Phillips Sheet Metal Screws)
