Truth will always be silenced.
Doesn't matter if we are in a time long long ago, or in the near or distant future, history repeats itself. Anyone who pays attention can tell! 1984 of Orwell is always a step away in our society, specifically their thought-police and that for those who don't draw the immediate connection. Star wars even was all about the rule of thoughts by the emperor. Do you think civilians most actually disagreed with the empire? Idunno, maybe. BUT perhaps they thought the empire had a really convincing point, especially with those blasters and power telling them what to think.
Point being, I suppose, society will always arrest people for what the trend deems inappapropriate, not because they believe it to be true, but because they are afraid of what is to come if they do not. Glad to see more and more people standing up against the oppressors of truth.
