On November 9th, 1979, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) detected 250 Soviet missiles on their way to the United States. Then came a correction -- there were 2,200. And they had less than five minutes to act.
This is a very brief history of how a faulty microchip nearly wiped out millions of people ... repeatedly.
